Splitting wood speeds up the drying process! It is important to split wood as soon as possible because drying wood becomes harder, making it more difficult to split or dent. Dry wood becomes more compressed and stronger than green wood, but due to it losing moisture, dry wood is lighter in weight. You can rest assured that Eric’s Firewood is always properly seasoned and will have a low moisture content!
